Goldilocks and the Three Bears

20180626_134610 (417x640)

In a house in the woods (who knows where?),
Live Ma and Pa and Mary Bear.
While their porridge cools in the morning air,
They fetch some cream from the dairy.

Oh, bears, beware! Oh, bears, beware!
Beware of girls with golden hair!

My review:

Rhyming, cute characters and funny. It really is a good book, but I wish learning phonics wasn’t forced upon our children. In any case, like with the others similar to this book, it’s not quite a bedtime story, but children will love it.

Snow White

20180604_132751 (415x640)

Princess Snow White, skin like snow,
Has a stepmum, long ago.
Every night, this queen would call
To her mirror on the wall:
“Mirror, mirror, on the wall,
Who is the fairest of them all?”

My review:

Which child does not like rhyming books?! A classic story retold in a fun way, which also highlights key sounds using phonics. It also includes charts at the back such as Rhyming Words, Letters Together, along with a Picture Dictionary.

Marvin Wanted More!

20160712_223658 (572x640)

One day, as Marvin watches his friends, he decides that he wants to be the biggest and the best sheep around. But how will Marvin get bigger and bigger? He’ll eat, of course.

Marvin doesn’t just eat a little, he eats A LOT. And the bigger he gets, the bigger he feels, so Marvin just wants MORE and MORE! He eats the flowers, grass, bushes and trees – he even eats the whole world!

Suddenly Marvin realises that he’s all alone. He’s eaten everything and, instead of making him feel better, it had only made him feel worse. So how will Marvin’s world get back to the way ot was before?

A brilliantly funny picture book about jealousy and friendship.

It’s great how all the characters work as a team to solve problems which arise. A lovely story for any Paw Patrol fan.
