Bunny Mask

bunny mask 1 (640x452)

It’s nearly time to take off the mittens, warm up and hop into spring! And who are the best hoppers around? Rabbits! So let’s make a bunny mask! Don’t forget to add a soft nose and twitching whiskers, before you start jumping around the room.

Toucan Box Theme: Bunny Mask.

Still playing catch up with the back log of Toucan Boxes, the next in line was a Bunny Mask. Little Yum-Yum asked me to do the cutting out for him, but wanted to do everything else himself.

He loved the nose and whiskers! Simply made out of pipe cleaners, a pompom and a lolly stick, it certainly entertained him for a while.

Of course, he couldn’t help it; he had to strike a pose!

and this was the result. He was very pleased.

The chick wasn’t meant to have wings, but Max said it didn’t look right as in fact chicks do have wings. So, I cut some out for him, and he stuck them on.

Burlap Bunny

Have you heard the news? Spring has arrived! The new flowers are beginning to bloom, the weather is warming up and the bunnies have come out to play. But wait, where has the Bunny’s tail gone? We better help her out and make the fluffiest, cuddliest tail we can. Ready? Let’s hop to it!

~ Toucan Box

Toucan Box Theme: Burlap Bunny.

Little Yum-Yum went to work with the Bunny’s tail with the yarn and stencil provided. He needed assistance to use scissors and to tie a knot to keep it all together, but did a good job. Of course, he had to strike a pose before we could move on.

Using a stencil, black paint and a sponge, Max created the shape of the Bunny, by applying the paint to the fabric, dabbing it on. When done, it was left to dry.

Once dry, Max attached the tail he had made earlier, by using a plastic needle to sew it on, and used green glitter glue for the grass.

I managed to find some space on a wall for it. It’s fantastic!

Little Yum-Yum was delighted to start creating again with his backlog of Toucan Box’s.

In this box was material to make a couple of jellyfishes from card, dot stickers, ribbons and a straw.

After much cutting, sticking and threading, the finished products turned out great! Max insisted on posing with them.

Toucan Box theme: Owl Lantern.

Twit-twooo! If you go down to the woods tonight, you may hear a hoot or two in the trees. That would be the owls coming out to play! Your little owl is very special. Click the glow stick and drop it into your lantern, the switch all the lights off. What can you see? Owls can see in the dark. And thanks to your new lantern, now you can, too!

~ Toucan Box

Little Yum-Yum drew some ‘feathers’ onto the owl’s body in his favourite colour – red.

Next, he made the big eyes,

With the lantern almost complete, there was only one thing left for him to do …
